The Beauty Essentials You Need This Spring Break

Posted by Susan Posnick on

Whether you're jetting off to an exotic location, hitting the slopes, or simply relaxing at home, Susan Posnick has all your spring break essentials.

At the Beach.

Heading somewhere sunny? While soaking up rays on the sand is certainly relaxing, it's still extremely important to protect your skin. Even if you have a skin tone that naturally tans well, sun damage is still risky (not to mention aging). Liquid sunscreens that contain chemicals can be harmful and irritating to the skin, clogging pores and leaving the skin feeling oily. Mineral sunblocks with naturally protecting ingredients like our Brush on Block and COLORFLO can be swept on over or under makeup and reapplied with ease. These invisible water-resistant and sweat-proof powders make it easy to stay protected without ruining your look. For a beachy glow, pair with ILLUMINATE to highlight along the brow bone, cheekbones, and any other areas where light naturally hits the face. Dust this shimmering powder along the collarbones and décolletage for an all over glow that will make you look absolutely radiant.

On the Slopes.

Have you ever gotten back from a chilly day of skiing or snowboarding only to discover a sunburn? The sun's reflection against the snow can be even more powerful than it is at the beach, causing an unexpected and unwanted burn. Be sure to use a product with SPF to protect against the harmful and aging rays of the sun. We love using COLORFLO, a mineral foundation that evens the skin tone, so you can look naturally flawless from the slopes to Aprés ski cocktails while keeping UVA and UVB rays at bay. COLORFLO features a self-dispensing brush, and can fit in a ski jacket pocket with ease for simple reapplication. Pair it with your favorite shade of COLORESSENTIAL, a lipstick that contains vitamins and olive oil to keep lips moisturized like your go-to lip balm, even in the dry mountain air.

On a Staycation.

Taking a well deserved break at home? We've got your go to "off duty" look. Whether running errands or meeting up with a friend for lunch, you'll want to give your skin a break as well. Use a COLORCORRECT pencil sparingly to conceal and correct redness, dark circles and other imperfections. Use the corrector side of the dual ended pencil to neutralize darkness and discoloration around the eyes and camouflage imperfections, then use the brightening side to highlight the cheekbones, brow bone,  and under eye area. Blend well with a brush or fingers and watch this creamy concealer blend seamlessly into the skin. Finish with a swipe of COLORCOATED mascara to open up the eyes. You'll be looking fresh faced and flawless, but with minimal products and effort.
